Section 47
Disqualification for driving
The following persons shall be deemed ineligible to obtain a driving licence:-
(a) A person who has not reached the age of 21 years for the purpose of driving a large vehicle.
(b) Persons who have not reached the age of eighteen years for medium and small vehicles. But for motorcycles and other small two-wheeled vehicles, a person who has reached the age of sixteen can get a driver's license.
(c) A person suffering from epilepsy or a person who is demented or has a sudden onset of tremors or fainting.
(d) A person whose eyesight is weak and whose eyesight is not normal even when using glasses.
(e) A person who is deaf to the point of not being able to hear simple sound signals, sounds. However, such a person can be given a driver's license so that he can drive only on roads that meet the prescribed criteria after testing his driving ability.
(f) A visually impaired person who cannot distinguish red, green, yellow etc. colors immediately.
(g) A person who is blind, or
(h) A person who is unable to work due to weakness of arms and legs. However, the restriction of this section will not apply to vehicles specially designed for the disabled.
